22 July 2008 - 21:44Working out…

Again! Doing the lifting! Last time I only did one set, this time I did two. And some cardio. Feeling pretty good. And I’m not so hungry anymore so I’m eating less, which is good. What I am eating is healthy, so even better. So tired though. More late. My bed calls!

19 July 2008 - 22:45Weights!

Whenever I start working out I also start with cardio. The plan is to do cardio for a couple of weeks and then work my way up to weights. But I said screw it and did weights today! I felt all jello-y afterwards, which was great! I can’t wait till Wednesday when I do it again. Hopefully I’ll be able to do two sets instead of just one!

17 July 2008 - 10:21Baby Steps….

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh! All over ugh! As we have established, I’m a stress eater and all I wanted for breakfast this morning was a big ol’ 15 point Taco Villa breakfast burrito. But! I didn’t. I had a fiber bar instead. But for a mid morning snack I did run and get a small flour tortilla with some refried beans. I’m pretty sure that was only 5 points. So, not too bad all things considered.

I have a friend that wants to start getting healthy. By getting healthy I mean lose weight. I don’t know why I’m so emberrased to say “lose weight” like that is not a legitimate reason to eat better. It’s ok to not want to carry around extra weight. Its ok to want to fit into older, cuter clothes. It’s ok to want to look good for a reunion. Anways. Its ok to want to lose weight to look hot. Not a problem at all.

Still no good news on the gym front. I really need to get my butt up there. Still need to find my keys too. But I bet the gym woud let me get a new little fob if I told them I lost my old one. *sigh* Gotta get better at this.

9 July 2008 - 22:10Another Day

Yeah that’s all today was, another day. BBQ for work and eating out with friends for dinner. Once again, ok choices but lord knows the pounds aren’t gonna just melt away this way. But at least I’m making better choices and I’m not gaining. It’s a day at a time.

Oh! And I just realized I can’t work out until I find my keys, which have my gym pass on them. Yeah. I’ve been keyless for what, seven days now? I don’t know how I make it day after day. Really. I need a keeper or at least a mother.

Till the next day, by which I mean tomorrow!

8 July 2008 - 22:29Work out motivation

So my gym bag has been packed and just hanging out in my car. I’m sure the cops should have been called by now for all the times I’ve left in in my hot car without even the windows cracked. It just chills in the back seat kinda looking at me like”Why wont you take me to the gym mommy? why don’t you love me?” Well, I don’t love the gym and I don’t like my gym clothes. But! I do love the bag. It’s beautiful Lululemon for land o’Canada. It’s a beaut, it just doesn’t get to see the gym at all.

Anyways. I know I need to work out. I know I’d be happier and more energetic if I worked out. I know I like the feeling of having worked out. I just don’t like to actually go to the gym. So I have an idea. I’m an important person. I’m kinda smart and got me some fancy edumication. I’m worth it damn it! Actually, I think I’m worth at least $20 an hour. So, I’m gonna start paying myself to go to the gym. Yeah. I think that’s a good idea. I’ve basically given myself the job of becoming healthier, so I should take this job seriously. And besides, after this working out becomes a habit and I retire and I just go to the gym because I want to stay busy after I retire, I’ll have a pretty penny saved up  (drum roll!) For the mini-vacation I’m taking when I reach one of my goals. Sounds like a win-win situation. Just one little change. I’m kinda poor and couldn’t afford my services, so I’m just gonna pay myself $10 an hour. Which is at least $5 for a 30 minute work out. Don’t wanna get discouraged ‘cuz I’m loosing money. Anyways.

You might be able to tell I’m a little tired hence all the goofy. But here’s hoping I can save, get healthy, and take myself seriously all at the same time!

7 July 2008 - 22:23Healthy 7-11s

Oh! I forgot one of my proudest moments in Fort Worth. We stopped at a local 7-11 and I needed a snack. I was worried about getting something at a convenience store because well, they don’t usually have healthy food. But! This one did! Right in the middle was a little cooled island that had fruit, yogurt, sandwiches, and other healthy foods. I had some string cheese and apple slices. It really hit the spot and I felt really good about it! Wish we had those here. It would make breakfast on busy days a lot easier.

6 July 2008 - 19:39Quasi Successful Weekend

I wont go into details about the trip, just the food. But I will say, Dallas–its not for me.

Thursday Night at the Air Port: Water, Orange and Yogurt (go me and my good choices!)

Thursday Night at the Bar: Four drinks.

Friday Day: Sushi for lunch. Sonic Dr. Pepper snack to keep me awake. Grilled Veggies and BBQ Chicken for dinner. Six beers through out the night. Chips and salsa at the bar.

Saturday: Fish Taco, Ground beef taco and red beans and rice for lunch. Cold Stone healthy ice cream (low fat + strawberries + chocolate sprinkles) for a snack. Turkey Roll and pasta salad for dinner. Six drinks the whole night.

Sunday: Carrots and Celery, Five wings, some fries, ranch dressing and a small soda for lunch.

Over all, I’m very proud of my eating. No salads, but I managed to be more healthy than usual vacation food. Too many drinks though. Ugh. What is it about city folk wannin to drink so much?

2 July 2008 - 21:41This weekend…

I’m gonna go see a friend. I’ve already burned through most of my weekly points dang it. So here’s hoping I can just ingest all my calories through liquid. And yes, through liquid I mean booze. Ok, not really. But I will have to make an effort to 1) Stay with in points and 2) Fit one or two lite beers into that range. Here’s hoping!

1 July 2008 - 22:15Healthy Eating at the Movies….

I’m trying very hard not to post a ton of mini posts. I figure if I pace myself I might be able to keep up with this blogging thing better.

So, just for tonight I’ll chat about eating healthy, and by healthy I also mean illegally at the movies. My friends and I went to see Hancock tonight (great show by the way! there’s just nothin Will can’t do right!). I was coming from a evening work event and didn’t have time to eat dinner before hand so I ran by the local grocery and picked up some healthy snacks: apples and peanut butter and carrots and ranch. No silly, I didn’t actually bring in a whole apple, a jar of peanut butter, a bunch of carrots and bottle of ranch! I grabbed these neat little prepackaged thingies that already had sliced apples and the perfect amount of peanut butter. Those two set me back six points. Plus I had some more sliced apples for a total of two more points and a handful of popcorn (really! just a handful!) which I’ll also count as two points. So for dinner and a movie I used ten points and got in four servings of veggies! Not bad if I say so myself. I’m actually kinda proud! Well, really proud. Go me!

30 June 2008 - 22:06Slimmer Sarah Redux

It’s been a while…a long while. But I’ve thought about this blog often—like everyday. Kinda like an ex. I’d think “Oh yeah, I used to have a blog, I wonder how it’s been. Is it having a good time? Do people stop by and visit?” So thinking about my blog is almost like posting right? I get partial credit? The blogs feelings aren’t too hurt? Please don’t be mad blog–it’s me, not you.

Along with the thinking came the guilt about not posting. Not the usually weight loser (or not loser in this case) guilt, but the random Catholic guilt. Here I have this nice ol’ blog the boy bought me and I’m just wasting it. Ugh, can’t just not use a gift! So, here I am when I should be sleeping, appeasing my guilty conscience and kinda thinking about being healthy.

Here’s a little recap: April =Hospital Stay. May=Finals. June=Vacation. Hiatus=Slight gain. July=More school and the determination to get back on the healthy bandwagon.

The boy opened his own business which makes me a small business widow, which I think might have silver lining. I can go to the gym and comfort my lonely heart with the eleptical machine. Who needs a boy when you have fancy gym equipment to keep you company?

So I also have new goals: 1. Work out 100 times between now and the end of the year 2. Lose 40 pounds.

See, I’ve been thinking about you  blog. I got all these little things I’ve been meaning to tell you. You know, like when you talk to your best friend after a really long time and you have all these stories you just blurt out and then gasp for breath. Well there you go best blog friend! Until tomorrow!
